Ex-LeBron James Teammate Emerges as Top Bronny James Comparison at NBA Draft Combine
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Bronny James , son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, has big NBA dreams of his own. While he doesn’t have the hype that his father had back in 2003, many eyes are still on Bronny, as he looks to find his way to the pros.

Bronny James’ NBA Draft Combine Measurements Draw Parallel to that of LeBron James’ Former Teammate

Part of Bronny’s journey is a stop at the NBA Draft Combine , which started this week. There, Bronny’s measurements were taken and it’s been revealed that a former LeBron James teammate closely resembles the former USC Trojans guard’s physical date.

Via HoopsHype:

The players with the draft combine measurements most resembling Bronny’s:

Dion Waiters
Sean Kilpatrick
Gary Harris
Shelvin Mack
Eric Gordon
Allonzo Trier
Charlie Bell
OJ Mayo

In that order.

Dion Waiters entered the league in 2012 with the Cleveland Cavaliers selecting him in that year’s draft fourth overall. Two years later, LeBron James came home to Cleveland, giving Waiters a chance to play with The King there for two seasons. He also played briefly with the LeBron-led Lakers back in the 2019-20 campaign.

Waiters did not pan out in the NBA like many thought he would, but that doesn’t mean Bronny’s going to have the same career trajectory. What’s clear is that there is enough promise and potential in Bronny to make him at least an intriguing NBA prospect.

In 25 games for the Trojans last season, Bronny averaged 4.8 points, 2.,8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while shooting around 37 percent from the field and under 30 percent from the 3-point region.
